Evgeni Mikhailov is a pianist of outstanding personality. The winnings at prestigious competitions such as I Scriabin International piano competition in Russia, I G.Erikson International piano competition in Sweden have amazed with the unanimity of jury and audience. After it E.Mikhailov became a prizewinner of competitions in Italy and Switzerland but he had got sensational success in 2002 at I Rachmaninoff International piano competition in Los-Angeles, USA where he became a laureate of I prize.
Hailed by critics for his “incontestable musical talent and musicality” (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Germany), “refinement of his sound” (Piano, Great Britain) as well as “passion, sincerity and lyricism” (Culture, Russia), Russian pianist Evgeni Mikhailov has performed over five hundred concerts around the world – from South America and the USA to China and Africa. He has appeared at such prestigious venues as Berlin Philharmonic Hall, Concert hall “G.Verdi” in Milan, Salle Cortot in Paris, St.-Martin-in-the-fields in London, Great Hall of Moscow Conservatoire, Civic Auditorium in Los Angeles, Steinway Hall in New York, City Hall in Hong Kong and CRR Concert Hall in Istanbul. He is also a regular guest at many international festivals, a.o. in Germany (“Berlin - Moskau”), Switzerland (Internationale Musikfestwochen Luzern), Norway (Bergen International festival), USA (Bellingham music festival), Russia (“Kremlin Musical”), Austria, and Sweden.
Evgeni Mikhailov has performed as a soloist with such orchestras as Deutsche Symphonie Orchester Berlin, Bydgoszcz Philharmonic, Orchestre National de Belgique, Russian National Orchestra, St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonic Orchestra, Buenos Aires Philharmonic, National Philharmonic of Montevideo (Uruguay), Mexico City Philharmonic collaborating with such prominent conductors as V.Ashkenazy, M.Pletnev, S.Sondeckis, J.Caballe-Domenech, J.Mester, M.Palmer, D.Raiskin, M.Gorenstein, N.Alexeev, and others.Mr. Mikhailov has been on the jury of many national and international piano competitions. He has also conducted seminars and master classes in many cities of Russia, USA, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, and Norway. In recognition of his merits, he was invited to give lectures and master classes at the World Piano Pedagogy Conference in the USA. Many of his students are laureates of Russian national and international competitions and have an active concert and teaching careers in Russia and abroad.
